Email bursting is in MicroStrategy 

Email bursting feature allows users to send out personalized slices of a single report execution to a dynamic list of recipients. Prior to MicroStrategy 10, Distribution Services was able to burst page-by slices to file; this capability has been extended to email as well.
Follow the steps below to to burst to email:

  1. Build the following report with attributes and metrics


    Note that the Manager attribute appears in the page-by. Email bursting, like file requires at least one attribute in the page-by
       Also, at least one of the page-by attributes should have an email attribute form. 
  1. Right-click on the Manager attribute in the page-by and add the Email attribute form. Save the report as “Email Bursting”
  2. Open the report’s subscriptions in MicroStrategy Web:
  3. Scroll down to the Email subscription and click the option to “Add email subscription”:
  4. Choose the schedule by clicking the drop-down and selecting the required schedule.
  5. Click the “Burst..” icon to expand it:

    All page-by attributes will appear in the left hand “Available attributes” column. Users can burst by multiple attributes and each slice will be a separate delivery.
     
  6. Click the right-hand arrow to move the Manager attribute to the right-hand column. Then change the “Address form” to “Manager:Email”. The 'Address form' field must always be set to an email attribute form.

     
  7. After choosing the bursting criteria and the Address form, the To: section should now be grayed out:

    Additionally, the “Expand page-by fields” and “Compress contents” options in the “Delivery Format” section should also be grayed out:

    This is expected behavior as the “To” field will be filled in dynamically by the Email attribute form chosen in the 'Address form' field. Additionally, since the page-by is used to resolve the email address the option to compress or expand them is disabled.
     
  8. Finally, select the check-box to “Send a preview now” and click OK. A preview should be received to the email addresses used by the MicroStrategy Tutorial project.

Compound key attribute A compound key attribute is an attribute whose primary key is made up by the combination of two or more columns. The multiple columns are joined with other attributes, typically in a many-to-many relationship . To create a compound key, users must create multiple attribute forms, group them together and set the form group as the key for the attribute. How are the fact tables determined using the logical table size for SQL generation in MicroStrategy The logical table size is an integer number that represents the granularity or level of aggregation of a particular table. It is called 'logical' because it is not related to the physical size of the tables (number of rows). Removing sections that do not have metric data This is an interesting feature which might not be explored by many of us and it comes us handy. A  cross join between datasets can result in rows or Group Header/Footer sections that do not have metric data. For example, a document contains two datasets. Dataset 1 contains Year and Revenue, with data for three years (2007-2009). Dataset 2 contains Year and Profit, filtered to return data for only two years (2008 and 2009). If you place Year and Profit in the Details and execute the document, it displays three rows, although no profit data exists for 2007. This is a product of the cross join between the two datasets. You do not want to see the blank line for 2007 since it does not give you any data for profit. You can select the  Trim sections for which no metric value data is available  check box. Settings for Outer Join between metrics in MicroStrategy MicroStrategy adopts multi-pass logic to determine the execution plan for a report. This means that every metric is evaluated in separate SQL passes. Outer Joins come into play when MicroStrategy Engine merges the results from all SQL passes into one report. For a multi-pass report, different Outer Join behaviors can give the user completely different results.
